As an experienced Atlanta wedding photographer, I’m still in awe of the fun, extraordinary locations to shoot around the city. There’s Ponce City Market’s industrial aesthetics, the charming green space of Piedmont Park and the not-so-subtle Atlanta skyline from the Jackson Street Bridge. Recently, I had the chance to photograph more of Atlanta’s well-known landmarks—Atlanta Braves’ SunTrust Park and the Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta.
What’s unique about the Omni Hotel is its proximity to SunTrust Park. Located on the fifth floor behind the hotel’s luxurious elevated pool deck is a spacious, grassed balcony. The balcony’s vantage point permits guests a glimpse at one of Major League Baseball’s newest and coolest ballparks. During this particular early morning shoot, we experienced significant cloud cover. However, we didn’t allow Mother Nature to prevent us from capturing exceptional photo ops. We took full advantage of the lighting and summer breeze by positioning the beautiful bride to right of the American flag. The bride’s blonde waves and long train with a detailed lace hem reflected the flag’s red and white stripes waving in the wind. It was a classic American sight to see.
