This week is Jennifer and Ezequiel.  They had a beautiful, intimate wedding at the Kimball House in Decatur.  The weather was perfect for the wedding day, attended by best friends and family.

Jennifer contacted me last year and told me about her unique wedding.  Within a few minutes I could tell this is a person who knows what she wants.  The more I talked to her,  I could tell how kind she was and how much she cherishes her friends and family.

The wedding venue was The Kimball House, which is not only a great restaurant, but the perfect wedding venue for a small wedding in Decatur.  The name comes from the historic Kimball House Hotel, which opened in the late 1800s and was razed in 1950 in downtown Atlanta.  The Kimball House restaurant is the remodeled historic Decatur train depot built in 1891 off of the Decatur Square near Agnes Scott College. The restaurant still has the original train tracks beside it, along with the wrap-around loading dock.  The interior has the original refurbished wood floors where you can see the remnants, of where it has been worn from freight and passengers.  It has been a Decatur landmark for many years!

On the day of the wedding Ezequiel was the first to arrive.  He was dressed smartly in a classic subtle plaid suit and tie.  He checked in with the Kimball House coordinator and had a quick cocktail.  Once he was done we went outside and took a few photos.  During that time we also chatted.  He praised Jennifer’s kindness and generosity towards others.  He was in awe of her intelligence and culinary skills.  He described their relationship as a perfect fit because they were so complementary of each other.

After the photos guests started to trickle in.  Ezequiel greeted them and showed them around.  The guests enjoyed HoneySuckle 3s, Alpine Tonic, or Old Fashioneds, the wedding’s signature cocktails.  There were also some of the Kimball House famous appetizers: oyster rockefeller, prosciutto and a variety of imported cheeses.

After the guests arrived Jennifer came to the wedding with her mom.  Jennifer wore one of my favorite dresses I have seen in a long time.  Like all great dresses it was a reflection of the bride’s taste and personality.  Like Jennifer, the dress was a classic!  It reminded me of an early movie star’s dress.  It had delicate piping and relief patterns that gave it that star quality that you could see someone wear at a movie premier.

Before the ceremony we took a few photos around the area, on the train tracks, and the different historic relics around the restaurant.  We even went across the street where Jennifer and Ezequiel had their first date.  Of course we had to take a photo at the table where they sat.  Once done we headed back to the restaurant

The ceremony was short and sweet.  It was performed by one of Jennifer’s old friends she had known since high school.  It was such a touching ceremony surrounded by some very supportive friends and family.  Once they were pronounced husband and wife the guests cheered!  It was official, Jennifer and Eziquiel were married!

The guests and newly wedded couple went inside and enjoyed a meal at one of Atlanta’s best restaurants.  It was a perfect ending to a perfect day!  Congrats to Jennifer and Eziquiel!  May peace and love reside in your hearts for many years to come!
