There’s no established, right or wrong way to describe love. If there were, it wouldn’t be fair. Ancient philosophers and literary greats and even average people depict their own version of love in such a way that expresses its personal meaning and essence. Each version is different, if only slightly. I wish my words could do love justice, but they can’t. However, my photographs can. I love love, and even more, I love to capture it through my camera lense. No matter skin color or religious affiliation or sexual orientation, I will never not love documenting love between couples.
On Saturday, I had the pleasure of photographing Brooke and Madison’s intimate Winn Park wedding in Ansley Park. I enjoy a simple, yet wildly romantic outdoor ceremony, and this one was no exception. Madison, who dressed in a sharp gray suit with a complimenting floral tie that matched her personality, walked down the aisle alongside her father, who performed the ceremony. Brooke—a stunning vision in ivory and lace—was then escorted by her mother and father. In front of close family members and friends, the sweet couple, who had first met in Savannah and had been together for several years, declared their love for one another, making their union official.

The photographs from this wedding were some of my favorite to take. It’s obvious these two beautiful people share such a special love and bond with one another. Before the ceremony, I took photos of the couple, both together and individually, at the historic Georgian Terrace Hotel in Midtown. And following the ceremony, we went to Piedmont Park and the Old Fourth Ward for several true Atlanta wedding photographs, including snapshots taken in front of the graffiti murals at Ponce City Market.

Brooke and Madison’s reception was held at their favorite Atlanta restaurant, TWO urban licks. Guests enjoyed the newlyweds’ favorite meal—and a classic Southern staple—chicken and waffles.
It was a lovely Saturday for a lovely wedding.
