Oh how gorgeous an October morning looks during the famous blue hour.
Several weekends back, I had the greatest opportunity of photographing Joelle and Jeff’s classic Atlanta engagement shoot. The city was quiet and desolate, yet the skyline’s bright lights casted their guidance, leading us to some pretty incredible locations. It was our goal to photograph at as many well-known Atlanta landmarks as possible and all before sunrise. To say we succeeded was an understatement.
Our first stop was the 14th Street parking deck for some timeless midtown photo opts. I loved how the autumn cloud coverage looked as if it were vanishing in fear, allowing daytime to slowly blossom with all its glory.
Next, we visited Centennial Olympic Park—a spacious public park located downtown and operated by the Georgia World Congress Center Authority. The celebrated park was constructed for the 1996 Summer Olympics, and since then, it has hosted numerous music concerts, firework shows, and a green space for tourists visiting nearby local attractions, including SkyView Atlanta. I shot some photos of Joelle and Jeff in front of the giant Ferris wheel and then in front of The Tabernacle. This was an ideal spot for the music loving groom-to-be since he had visited the historic venue for many great concerts before.
From downtown, we ventured east to Ponce City Market and Old Fourth Ward Park where the sunrise and lush, natural oasis of the city greeted us. The sunshine provided warmth and a stunning golden light. The engagement shoot ended at a playground where the couple allowed their inner child to roam free and unashamed.
Congratulations, Joelle and Jeff!
