This past Saturday, we had the honor of capturing Melissa and Sam’s tender outdoor wedding in historic Marietta. Having known each other for over 14 years, this beautiful couple began dating several years ago after Sam finished his time in the United States Marine Corp.
The intimate, late afternoon ceremony took place at a friend’s house—said friend also happens to own and operate a wedding business. Talk about a wonderful coincidence. It was a lovely setting for such a romantic, late October affair. Before the ceremony, Melissa and her father shared a sweet and emotional first look. It’s always touching to witness a proud father seeing his gorgeous daughter in a wedding dress for the first time. This particular moment was no exception. And the endearing moments didn’t stop there. Melissa and Sam opted to write their own wedding vows, which included the story of the legendary missed flight that brought them together and their favorite NFL teams—Melissa’s a New England Patriots fan, while Sam roots for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Following the ceremony, we hopped on a bus and traveled to the East Cobb Park for more photos, which included colorful smoke bombs, a picturesque wooden bridge and every photographer’s dream, natural light. We got lucky with these shots.

Back at the wedding reception, Melissa and Sam enjoyed special time with their loved ones as they listened to countless whole-hearted toasts and danced the night away. The newlyweds exited the blissful festivities with a sparkler sendoff and into an antique Rolls Royce.
Congratulations again, Melissa and Sam.
